A deep fried sweet khoya preparation, crunchy on the outside, moist and flaky inside. It can be served warm and cold.
In a container, maida, salt, sugar, saunf, sodium bicarbonate and oil/ghee are mixed properly. Luke warm milk is added to the mixture and kneaded into a tight dough. It is kept aside for 15 minutes. The dough is made into balls and shaped into ovals by pressing against the palms. Oil is heated in a wide frying pan. These ovals are deep fried in medium flame till they become golden brown. These are then drained out and single string sugar syrup is sprinkled over.
Its a nice dessert and can be stored for more than 3 weeks in air-tight containers.
The packet contains 20 pieces along with divine Nirmalya and idol of Lord Jagannath.
