This sweet dessert is a variant of malpua and offered to Lord Jagannath everyday during the Sandhya Dhoop. Its a kind of sweet puri.
The main ingredients of this are wheat flour, juggery, fully ripened banana and ghee.
Smash the ripe bananas into a fine paste. Add juggery and banana paste to wheat flour; and mix properly. Add some water to make the mixture thin. Small spoons of the mixture are poured into hot ghee. The mixture spreads in circles and are deep fried on both sides. It looks like malpua; but its dry and no sugar syrup is used in the process.
The packet contains 10 pieces along with divine Nirmalya and idol of Lord Jagannath.
